Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a software license fee associated with the RSM-250?
There is no software licensee fee for the RSM-250.
Do I need a MIB browser to view current information at my tower sites?
A MIB Browser is needed to view SNMP v1 information configured in the RSM250. The other way to view current information is through the web page. The web page can be viewed at the IP Address/HTTP port number configured in the RSM-250.
Can I receive and e-mail notification when an alarm condition is detected?
Yes. The RSM-250 Site Monitor can be configured to e-mail an address when an alarm condition is detected. The RSM-250 can also e-mail a daily report to a specific address.
Can the RSM-250 send alarms to my cellular phone?

Will I be able to monitor antenna system conditions?
Yes. The RSM-250 will monitor the forward and reflected power and compute Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) on two RF channels. A power sensor is required for each RF channel. Each channel can be set for continuous or intermittent monitoring mode.
I have limited rack space available, how large is the unit and can it be wall mounted?
Yes. The RSM-250 was designed to fit in a standard 19” equipment rack and is 1 rack unit in height. (1.50”) 1.50” H x 19” W x 6”D.
The RSM-250 can be wall mounted in an optionally priced Nema 1 or Nema 4 wall mounted enclosure or a wall mount bracket.
Is the RSM-250 expandable for more than 6 Inputs and Outputs?
Yes. The RSM-250X is expandable to monitor up to 36 Inputs and Outputs as needed at a site. The RSM-250 platform is fully configurable and can be customized to meet specific needs.
Is the RSM-250 available in -48 vDC?
Yes. -48vDC is an option for the RSM-250.
What is your largest deployment?
The Commonwealth of Kentucky has deployed the RSM-250 at over 150 tower sites used for its state-wide mobile data system. The RSM-250 monitors temperature, antenna system VSWR, and power. The RSM-250 sends SNMP information to the Commonwealth’s HP OpenView, and this provides real time alarm notification.
